Again, playing away from home, Newbury started well and in a cagey first half affair, they just edged it at the break with a one goal advantage. Newbury’s goal scored through in-form striker, Amy McNab, assisted by Bec Walker.

But it was after the break that Newbury’s attackers ran riot. First Walker slotted home, when she was set up by McNab. Before the skipper, Maria Rodrigues again continued her scoring streak, by nicking Newbury’s third. And then coming off the bench to great effect, was Kendall Gilmour. She only had ten minutes in which to make her mark, but she scored Newbury’s fourth and fifth goals of the game, the latter from a direct free kick just inside the ‘D’.

And so it had proved to be a comfortable afternoon for Newbury Development. Five nil winners on the day and they can enjoy top spot in the league for another week.
