Match Report -- Season 2019-20
Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League
Division 3 South
Sunday 24 November 2019
S4K FC Ladies 0 Newbury Ladies Development 1
LaNewbury Ladies FC Development Team travelled to a Bracknell venue to take on S4K FC Ladies, who are the current league leaders in Division Three South.

The match started evenly, with efforts on target for both teams. Player Coach, Nicky Isted, was making her season’s debut in goal for Newbury, and she was to have a very busy afternoon. But she performed admirably and stood up to the test well.

It was Newbury that achieved an early breakthrough, after a Nicole Beesley cross was turned into the S4K goal by their own defender. Newbury now had a one nil lead to protect and then defended brilliantly, reaching half time with the same score-line intact.

Newbury knew they would come under pressure in the second half, but their back line and goal keeper were in inspired form and S4K just couldn’t breach them. Isted deservedly taking the Player of the Match plaudits of a string fine saves. Newbury saw the game out until the final whistle and it had been a superb away performance to secure their second clean sheet in a row, and another one nil victory. The win sees Newbury Development move up into second place in Division Three South, just one place behind their opponents, S4K FC Ladies.
