Despite dominating the first half Newbury only went in at half time 2-1 up through Abigail Ayling persistence. She opened the scoring after 15 minutes following after the keeper had parried her first effort. Wantage equalised through their best player, Ellie Seijido, with their only shot of the first half but Abigail Ayling chased the ball after rounding the keeper to keep it in play to tap in to close the half.
Newbury were much better in the second half turning their dominance into goals. Substitute Amy Myers started this with a fine shot from the edge of the area. Abigail Ayling finished off a goal bound shot from Amy Myers for her hat trick. Then Alex Kovacsova fired in a good cross from Molly Baker before Amy Myers waltzed by two defenders for her second to make the score 6-1.
