Barton Rovers Royals 2 Newbury Ladies Development 1
It was not happy travelling for the Newbury Ladies FC Development Team when they faced Barton Rovers Royals in Reading. Newbury went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat, when they really should have taken something out of the game.

The opening ten minutes of the match had so much drama and it was a disastrous start for Newbury Development, when an own goal was scored with just three minutes on the clock. They reacted well however to that early set back and found themselves back on level terms after ten minutes when Nicole Beesley was fouled in the Barton area and the Referee had no doubts in awarding the visitors a penalty kick. Up stepped regular penalty taker and top goal scorer, Kendall Gilmour, who dispatched the spot kick with ease to claim her 15th goal of the season. 1-1 now the score-line.

Unfortunately, Newbury fell behind again in the first half after a lapse in concentration and they were still trailing at the half time break. In the second period, despite dominating for large spells, Newbury were unable to breach the home defence. There would be no further scoring in the match and so Barton Rovers Royals saw out a 2-1 victory and took all three points. Leaving Newbury to travel home empty handed this time.
