Newbury Ladies Football
Match Report -- Season 2017-18
Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League
Division 2 South
Sunday 22nd October 2017
Thatcham Town 0 Newbury Ladies Development 18
The Newbury Ladies Development Team did not have too far to travel when they faced local rivals, Thatcham Town Ladies in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s League Division Two. It was all one-way traffic however, with Newbury earning a totally dominant 18-0 victory. They were three nil up after just 11 minutes, with goals from Kendall Gilmour and two from Alice Hill.

Around the half hour mark, Maria Rodrigues pounced either side of another Alice Hill strike, to double the score-line to 6 nil. Newbury added three further goals before the half time whistle, with conversions from Hill again and two from in-form Alex Kovacsova. There was to be no let up for the Thatcham players after the break, as a ruthless Newbury side really turned on the style. The goals rained in every few minutes and all 9 second half strikes were shared between the league’s top scorer, Alice Hill, Kovacsova and Nicole Beesley also bagging a hat-trick.

In all, Newbury’s 18 goals delivered 3 hat-trick players in one match, which is a remarkable achievement – Alice Hill (8), Alex Kovacsova (4) and Player of the Match, Nicole Beesley (3) – and they now have the second best goal difference in the division.
