Newbury opened the scoring almost immediately after the start following a great effort by Tiz Hanson holding onto the ball despite challenges form several Aylesbury players finally getting the ball to Kaz who sidefooted the ball into the net.

Aylesbury then forced a save from Chloe after a break down the right wing. Newbury were working well with Tiz looking very lively down the right. Kaz, Neat, Sarah, Ali and Sally all involved in attacking moves. Newbury were battling well with Neat, Sarah and Ali combining well in midfield. Kaz then released Leanne whose shot went over the bar.

As the quarter hour approached Aylesbury were staring to look stronger and after a dangerous attack down the left just headed wide of the Newbury goal.

Newbury then resumed their attacks with Neat, Kaz and Tiz particulary dominant winning several corners. After a strong challenge by Lauren Sheldon released the ball to Kaz whose shot was just wide.

After 25 minutes, somewhat against the run of play, Aylesbury equalised after a break down the right. Newbury resumed the dominance of midfield with Neat, Sarah and Ali all winning challenges in the middle. Newbury continued to make progress down the right . Sarah was unable to get the ball under control in the box and Kaz had another shot just over the bar.

Then, with just 3 minutes to go before half time, Aylesbury went an unlikely 2-1 up after a break through the middle which caught the Newbury defence a bit flat footed. The striker lobbed the ball over Chloe in goal.

The start of the 2nd half was even but after 10 minutes Aylesbury put a long ball over the top which Chloe was unable to collect and the subsequent shot hit the post and was tapped in for 3-1 to Aylesbury. Chloe swapped with Tiz who went in goal, in an attempt to change the game as Newbury had no subs.

Aylesbury were now looking stronger as Newbury struggled with their fitness. With 15 minutes to go Kaz relieved Tiz in goal. Neat and Chloe had chances before the end but were unable to convert them.
