Ducklington went further ahead after Newbury conceded a free kick on the edge of the box and Ducklington scored direct from the set piece.

Newbury however reduced the deficit just before the break when Tiffany Chapman, making her home debut, burst through the Ducklington back line to score one on one with the opposition keeper.

Newbury started the second half more positively and after several chances equalled the score line through Karen Churchill. This now opened the floodgates with Karen Churchill going on the score six goals. Two of which Karen Churchill calmly composed taken against Ducklington and her last a fierce swerving shot which nestled in the top corner. Tiffany Chapman also scored a fine poachers hat-trick and Kate Pike rounded of fine team performance with her first goal for Newbury. Karen Churchill was player of the match. Special mention to Kelly Mosher, Sam McMonnon, Lauren Sheldon and Gemma Ball who were resolute at the back and formed a formidable defence. Captain Sue Hewett also had a fine game.
