Newbury attacked again from the start and Stacey Richadson should have had a second when a shot crossed the line but the keeper clawed the ball back and the goal wasn’t given. However a third goal did comeon 53 minutes when Hayley Giles was sent down the left side, cut in and squared the ball for Tewsday Herbert to score her first goal for the club in her new position of central midfield in which she excelled.

Brize tried to come back straight away but Laren Sheldon, in goal, dealt with the shot and went on to keep her seventh clean sheet. Stacey Richardson then went close again before Hayley Giles scored her second following a good througfh ball by Tewsday Herbert to make it 4-0. Lucy Ward was a constant threat down the right and had a shot well saved before Pam Hartley, who had led the line up front, gave way to new signing Claire Turley who showed some good touches on her debut.

Hayley Giles had more chances to add to Newbury’s total. Newbury’s midfield of Lucy Ward, Sue Hewett, Tewsday Herbert and Stacey Richadson deserved mention for the chances created and covering every inch of the field. The defence of Gemma Ball, Sam McConnon, Lorna Parr and new signing Kelly Mosher dealt with everything Brize could muster znd Kelly Moshermarking her debut really excelled at right back with her tackling, passing and non-stop running.
