Newbury Ladies Reserves Football
Match Report -- Season 2007-8
Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League
Division 3
11th November 2007
Newbury 3 Winnersh Rangers 0
Newbury came into this game looking to bounce back from their previous home defeat at home to Marlborough. Newbury started well and created chances early on in the game but it wasn’t until the half hour mark that Newbury scored through Hayley Giles. However with Stacey Richardson and Rachel butler in centre midfield and Lucy Ward on the right Newbury always looked likely to score.

The second half started in much the same way but Winnersh also had their chances but with a defence well marshalled by skipper Sam McConnon and centre half Lorna Parr reading the game superbly Winnersh couldn’t break through. Tewsday Herbert worked tirelessly for the side on the right and with Gemma Ball on the left marking her return to the team Newbury were suppling plenty of service down the flanks. Lauren Sheldon also looked commanding in goal but eventually Newbury pressure told with Hayley Giles netting her second to settle the game. The game was finished off as a contest when a Stacey Richardson rifled in at the near post .
