| Newbury had Stacey Richardson and Kelly Saunders making their debuts and started the game against a strong Chalfont side. Newbury struggled to contain the Chalfont front line and went behind just before the break.
Newbury, through Lucy Ward and Sue Hewett, tried to get back into the game after the break. Kelly Saunders battled valiantly to keep possession up front, however Chalfont pressure meant that Newbury conceded three more goals, but Newbury didn’t give up and had pressure but were unable to score. Lauren Sheldon was named man of the match for her outstanding performance in goal.
