Match Report -- Season 2007-8
Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League Cup
28th October 2007
Chinnor 'A' 4 Newbury 0
Newbury started the game with just eight players after several players suffered injuries. Chinnor gained the upper hand with an early goal but Newbury responded with Ellen Ireland leading the line for Newbury. Chinnor went further ahead before the break and then added a third.

The second half started with Newbury convinced they could get something out of the game and with Rachel Butler attacking down the left hand side as well holding the centre of midfield with skipper Sue Hewett who was having a sound game they tried to change the shape of the game to suit Newbury. It was a Rachel Butler crossfield ball across the goalmouth that just needed a touch but unfortunately no-one was following up.

Stacey Richardson who was playing fullback tried to push forward at every opportunity and very nearly scored with a low driven shot from the edge of the box.Chinnor scored a late fourth goal but Lauren Sheldon battled well in goal .

Sam mcconnon and lorna parr were solid at the back despite the score and are starting to look an formidable partnership. Manager Tony McConnon said there was a lot of pluses to come out of the game despite the scoreline.
