Match Report -- Season 2006-7
North East Hants Youth League - Girls Under 14
1st April 2007
Sandhurst Town 1 Newbury Girls 10
Newbury kept the pressure on Fleet with a convincing win to keep them top of the league. The home team started with only 8 players and kept the visitors at bay till midway through the half. A shot from Victoria Summerfield was parred and Sophie Harvey was on hand to tap the ball home. Ruby Oliver made it two minutes later when she burst into the box from the right and fired home into the far corner with a low sweet drive. Victoria made it three when she was put clear through and she slid the ball home under a diving keeper. Sophie grabbed her second just before the break with another easy tap in after good work down the right from Hailey Thomas.

After the break Newbury’s keeper Honor Ramos came out on pitch and as always this season grabbed a goal. Within the space of five minutes she had grabbed a hat trick with three long range powerful strikes from outside the box. Sophie Harvey added a brace to her first half goals again from close range with a header and a left foot strike before Ruby Oliver grabbed her second with also a sweet left foot strike. The visitors never stopped battling and got there reward just before the end when they scored from a swift counter attack to complete the scoring but Newbury took all three points.
