Lisa Duncan opened the score after 7 minutes breaking through the centre of the opponents defence. Christchurch responded to this forcing a couple of saves by Jane Pearcey on her debut for Newbury in goal. Lisa had a chance to double her tally with a similar break through the defence but this time the keeper made a save. Christchuch were then given a free kick just outside the box and the direct free kick went through Newbury's defensive wall, beating Jane, to equalise the score. Chelsea and Lisa then had shots over the bar before Kendall restored then lead from excellent build up involving Karen Churchill, Kelly Doe and Leanne Creese.

The second half saw 2 early goals by Kendall effectively sew up the result . Lisa had further cahnces to score again striking the ball over the bar. Christchurch gained a consolation goal when Jane parried a ball directly to the attacker who gave Jane no chance to save the shot.
