With the wind and slope now in Newbury’s favour the second half started with much of the play in the Chinnor half. After 10 minutes Lauren had a shot from outside the area which went over the bar but somewhat against the run of play Chinnor scored when Newbury failed to clear the ball from the danger area just outside the 18 yard box. Newbury retaliated with a long range shot by Sue Hewett. Unfortunately for Newbury with 18 minutes remaining to play Holly, in goal, was injured and 5 minutes later had to be substituted. Sue went in goal for the final 13 minutes. Elli had an opportunity with a long range free kick which was saved by the keeper before Chinnor grabbed a couple of goals, one a penalty, in the last 5 minutes to give them a somewhat flattering result. It is fair to say that the team continues to improve and but for the opening and closing minutes of the game they competed on equal terms.
