| This pre-season friendly was played against the winners of last season's Thames Valley Division 2. It provided a useful work out particularly for several new players in both teams. Newbury was experimenting with a new midfield combination of Caz Harkness, Chelsea Starbuck, Colleen Geis, Sue Hewett and Leanne Creese. Kendall Gilmour also benefitted from scoring a hat trick with 3 excellent goals including a spectaular header from a Leanne cross which would have graced any game at any level of football, men or women. |
