AFC Newbury 0 Swindon Town 13 |

Newbury tried their hand at 11 a side against a strong and experienced Swindon Town team. Unfortunately with 2 of their more experienced midfielders absent Newbury were only able to field 10 players but Swindon loaned 3 players to make up the number. In the first half playing up the hill Newbury coped well with the well organised opposition and had several attacking moves throughout the half. They turned round with a creditable 0-4 deficit at half time.
In the second half however Swindon's skill and fitness overcame, in particular, the Newbury midfield. This resulted in enormous pressure on the Newbury defence. Carly Passfield, in goal, was kept very busy throughout the half and despite the final score emerged with great credit making a number of really fine saves.
