In very difficult conditions Calleva chose to play with the very strong bitterly cold wind behind them. For the first 15 minutes the game was quite even with the Newbury defence and Emma in goal holding their own. Calleva scored their 1st goal midway through the half followed by another 5 minutes later. However Newbury continued to battle against the wind and the opposition until 5 minutes before halftime when they conceeded 2 quick goals to give Calleva a somewhat flattering half time lead.

With the wind behind them in the second half Newbury had some reason to be optimistic and they played again with some spirit for the first 15 minutes while conceeding a solitory goal. However with 12 minutes to go Calleva got on top and Newbury lost heart conceeding a further 4 goals to leave a rather disappointing result to the game.
