In the first half Newbury continued their play where they had left off in the previous match last Saturday. With Georgie playing at the back this allowed Rachel playing her first game since November to play a more attacking role which she did to great effect with some outstanding runs from the Newbury half. Newbury had plenty of possession and were dealing well with the Kingsclere attack. Unfortunately midway through the half the Newbury defence froze allowing a Kingsclere attacker to shoot and score the first goal. Newbury however were now affected by this setback and continued to play excellent football.

In the second half Newbury seemed to lose their momentum although they had good opportunities to score. Emma Cheralbrier in particular had 2 good shots which went just to the right of the post. Newbury conceeded 2 more goals one just before the end to give a final scoreline which did not really reflect the game which was much closer than a 3-0 loss.
