Despite the score this was a well contested game in which Newbury made it very difficult at times for this well organised and experienced Wolversdene team. Despite conceding a simple goal in the first 2 minutes Newbury held the score at 1-0 for the first 20 minutes. At times this was due to desperate defending with Newbury unable to get out of their own half but it was also due to some excellent saves by Emma Hunt who is making steady progress as a goalkeeper. Unfortunately in a 6 minute period just before half time Wolversdene added 4 more goals all of which were well taken.

The second half was a real improvement for Newbury who again conceded an early goal but they were defending with much more commitment and Wolversdene were somewhat lucky to add another 3 goals. Again Emma was positively involved in the action.
