Both teams struggled to take hold of the game and it was end to end stuff for the first ten minutes. Newbury began to take control and were soon rewarded when Ruby set Lucy free to put Newbury 1-0 up. Kingsclere were soon level with a good strike just before half time.

The second half saw the visitors began to tire and Newbury regained the lead when Lucy added her second with a fine solo effort. Kingsclere did not give up but fine defending from Harriett and Molly kept them at bay. The game was all over when a long strike from Player of the match Lucy completing her hatrick and giving Newbury the three points.
