AFC Newbury Ladies Football
Match Report -- Season 2003-4
Berks and Bucks County Women's League 26th October 2003
AFC Newbury 0 Reading Girls 9
Newbury started this game with a different formation to previous weeks in an attempt to counter the strength of the Reading team. Unfortunately the plan did not work. Newbury just did not compete for the ball and there was a great void in the centre of midfield which Reading exploited in the first half to the fullest extent. By half time they were 5-0 up.

In the second half Newbury changed the formation and certainly competed for the ball with more determination. They were holding Reading until Chelsea Starbuck was injured and had to leave the pitch for treatment to a badly bruised hip. After this Reading again gained the upper hand to win the game 9-0.
