In the first game for 5 weeks due to Christmas and the weather Newbury were not only suffering from lack of match fitness but only 2 players were not suffering from one bug or another. At least with 7 players it was possible to give the players a breather. The game started with an early goal for Hatch Warren but then Newbury settled a little which meant that at half time the score was 1-0.

In a bizarre 3 minutes just after the start of the second half Hatch Warren scored 3 goals before the game reverted to the play as in the first half. Generally Hatch Warren were getting to the ball first and although Chelsea, Kelly and Sarah all had shots on goal the Hatch Warren goalkeeper dealt with them.
