Newbury achieved a much needed win in this game which they dominated from start to finish. Caz and Jo, who shared the goalkeeping this week, had little to do as the game was largely played in the Sandhurst half. In the first half Newbury did everything but score hitting the posts on several occasions. Emma in particular in the first half had a very strong attaching game and was unlucky not to score. Although goalless at half time there was no panic as Newbury were creating so many opportunities providing they kept at it the would have to score eventually.

Early in the second half they were rewarded when Kelly finally defeated the excellent Sandhurst goalkeeper who had made many important saves. Again the woodwork came to the help of the opposition as a shot from Chelsea hit the crossbar. Chelsea then added to the score with a well taken shot.  Although they created many more chances Newbury were unable to add to the 2-0 scoreline even after being awarded a penalty for handball as, in keeping with the rest of this game, Caz hit the post with the spot kick.
