This was a disappointing game and a disappointing result played in difficult conditions of a high wind and slippery pitch against a weakened Calleva side fielding only 5 players. The rotating goalkeepers this week were Chelsea and Hannah. Playing into the wind in the first half Newbury had several shots which went wide, hit the posts, the side netting or over the bar. This inability to score is getting to everybody.

The conditions were not just not helping. Any ball played in the air was almost impossible to control and where the game needed to be slowed down and controlled Newbury were rushing in desperation to score. With 10 minutes gone in the second half and with Newbury's current run of luck it was inevitable that Calleva would score much against the run of play.
