Newbury started this game with plenty of confidence against local rivals Calleva. Louise played in goal for the entire match and made several important saves by attacking the ball particularly when one on one with the Calleva attackers.

The match was notable for a period of about 5 minutes midway through the first half when Calleva scored 4 goals. The first was unfortunate where the ball ricocheted around the goal area and finished in the net. The other goals were well taken but resulted from Calleva getting into the goal area outnumbering the Newbury defence.

Instead of folding and conceeding more goals Newbury regained their composure and certainly matched Calleva for the rest of the game.

The second half was very competitive with Nina and Lucy both having scoring opportunities. The overall shape of the team was much better in the second half Rachel was particularly strong in defence and Amy had an excellent game.
