The under 12 team only has 6 players so they were unchanged again this week. The team is developing well as the players are becoming accustomed to each other. Everyone had a good game this week especially Carly who was in goal again. In the first half Carly had a lot of work to do saving several shots but also being very positive and commanding in front of goal. Hatchwarren were always threatening but Carly was picking everything up that got anywhere near the goal. The game was played with much enthusiasm with Rachel particularly strong in attack supported very well by Zoe and Grace. Rachel scored twice in the first half after 7 and 14 minutes. Both goals were well taken.

In the second half Newbury were more dominant Fi and Poppy are establishing a good understanding in defence which meant that Carly had much less to do in the second half. Newbury should have scored several goals but the final touch was letting them down in front of goal. With five minutes to go Hatchwarren scored from a goalmouth scramble, the scorer managing to kick the ball into the back of the net as Carly was about to pick the ball up. This could have made for an interesting last 5 minutes but Rachel resolved any doubts about the result by scoring a third 2 minutes later.
