Newbury opened their season with a comfortable win over Andover New Street B. With 4 players: Zoe, Fi, Poppy and Grace making their under 12 league debuts this was an excellent start to the season. After a shaky start conceeding a goal after 2 minutes Newbury started to find their shape giving several opportunities for Rachel to score. Half way into the first half Rachel did score and 2 minutes later put Newbury into the lead. By halftime Newbury were well on top.

In the second half Newbury had further opportunities and, after 10 minutes, Grace put the game beyond doubt after some fine interpassing with Rachel. Carly played the whole game in goal and had a good game. This undoubtedly helped give this new team confidence.
